Review: Monarchy in South East Asia: The Faces of Tradition in Transition

Monarchy in South East Asia: The Faces of Tradition in Transition
Monarchy in South East Asia: The Faces of Tradition in Transition by Roger Kershaw

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This is a good book if you want to learn about the political Systems in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei in Detail. It's good if you already are familiar with the names of the kings/dictators/rulers in South-East Asia. If not and if you are more interested in some kind of overview then this book might not be your first choice. Telling the truth I had some problems remembering who's who in the Asian royal families and for me there were too many after person no. 1, person no. 2 ruled from to, then person no. 3 from to and so on, so I only browsed some pages. I'd wished the book was a Little more lively, but besides that it was an interesting read.
